Then come along and find out how!

Southern Brisbane Sportfishing Club Inc is a family friendly non-competitive fishing club that caters for all types of fishing. We are affiliated with ANSA and promote their ethics. We fish at least once a month in venues throughout the southern region of Queensland. We fish in both fresh and salt water. If we plan an away trip then there will be a local day as an alternative.

Our members use kayaks, canoes and up to 6m boats. No boat—no problems as we can usually organize a ride. This is especially good if you don’t know what sort of boat you want. Due to the size of boats we generally do not venture out of partially smooth waters suitable for the smallest tinnies.

We have members experienced in all types of fishing and techniques so you can always learn heaps—and have fun doing it. We even have an Australian record holder for line class and ANSA “master” fishermen.

We meet the first Monday night of every month at the Beenleigh Bowls Club at 11 Hanover Street Beenleigh.

You do not need to be a member of the bowls club to attend our meetings but please sign in at the front desk. Please note their dress requirements—no singlets, tea-shirts or thongs after 6PM.

For your convenience when you become a member we recommend you apply for social membership of the Beenleigh Bowls Club. Social Membership only costs $ 5.50 per year and the membership form can be downloaded from here. The Bowls Club has many great functions and events of interest to its members. Support the club that supports us.

We meet the first Monday of every month, except in January, even if it is a public holiday . The meeting starts at 7.30 PM to confirm the trips for the next couple of months and other admin and activities.  After the break we have a speaker or other activity. The meetings finish by 9.30PM. Drinks including coffee, soft and alcoholic are available for reasonable cost from the bar but the kitchen is closed.
